Conway is the Horry County Seat and one of the oldest towns in the State of South Carolina. Conway is also known as “The River Town”, because of its location on the Waccamaw River. Much of the present day Conway community was built in the early 1900’s. 17 of Conway’s sites are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
In addition to the Old South Heritage of Conway, many of the local Bistros and Cafes get some of the best reviews in the area. While most of the restaurants along Myrtle Beach deem to satisfy quantities of food, the local eateries of Conway find their niche to serve a finer dish of quality. If you like after dinner strolls, you will not find one much better than the boardwalk along the Waccamaw River Front. There are several nice shops, art galleries, restaurants and clothing stores along Main Street in Conway.
On the outskirts of the City of Conway is where we have witnessed a great deal of the Residential Real Estate boom. This is also the area where the Conway Golf Courses are located. Some of the golf courses that Conway has to offer are: Conway Country Club, Quail Creek, Shaftsbury Glen, Witch Golf Links and Wild Wing Plantation.
